I learn from you first.
Yes, I am not against this way at the first steps (I mean think in French or any other mother language and then express the idea in English) but little by little when you come to get acclimatized with the culture of the language (the way the natives think before they speak) you may start to think in English in order to speak in English, just like them.
So, right now you can go on with the way you said because you are not supposed to know there culture as I said.

Now, since you are not willing to start a subject I will do it myself:
Try to give three sentences using these three idiomatic expressions;
1 Stand one's ground,
2 An eager beaver,
3 Blood, sweat and tears.
You are allowed to go through Google.

By the way "au_gré_du_vent" do not say I will do my better and say I will do my best.

yes!! I can use google , my best friend forever google !
but I don't know the meaning of none of these sentences , I never heard them before , I mean how to employ them,it's so hard
